The Security System was designed by one of the leading security experts, specifically for the college and university campus, based on the input of your counterparts at numerous campuses.

The Access Control-Security System can be run as an integral part of Heartland's Campus OneCard System or completely separate as a standalone system.

Master Security Monitor

At the heart of the system is the Master Security Monitor, which displays all alarm conditions. The officer on duty must respond to the alarm, insuring a record of who responded and when they responded. Notes are kept of what was determined in each case and what was done, providing a permanent record of each alarm and the response. In most cases the system can be used to display alarms from other systems as well. The user can customize all alarm colors and messages for each alarm.

Groups

By putting people in groups, access rights can be issued to numerous people with one entry, i.e. all residents who live in Hall A may enter 24/7. Imagine how much time this feature will save you.

Location

You create as many locations as you need. Any location can have sub-locations, sub-sub- locations etc. Any rule made for a location covers all sub locations. Creating a location which includes the front door and 1 or more side doors, means one rule will cover the front and the side doors. This saves a great deal of time and effort.

Multi Door Controller^TM

A single controller can be used to run up to 32 doors each with their own point monitoring, and an additional 16 points which do not have card readers. By creating a" sandwich" configuration one can start with as few as 4 doors and expand to 32 doors. Six strands of wire from the wiring closet handles both communications and power to the card reader and door lock, including battery backup. This feature eliminates the need for power at the door. The Multi Door Controller™ makes on-line access control affordable.

Wireless, On-line Door Locks

Where it is tough to run wires, use our Wireless door locks in conjunction with the Multi Door Controller^TM to achieve on-line wireless door access control. The door locks have self contained batteries eliminating the need for power at the door. They are easy to retrofit.

Open/Closed Hours

Set multiple open and close hours for each location, as your needs dictate. This feature provides you with total flexibility to require cards for select hours. A concept called "Snow Days" allows you to set some or all doors to unlock during designated hours, but not before the first authorized entrant arrives.

Organizations

The Organization™ concept allows the division of the campus into working organizations and grants control rights to functions reserved for that Organization, i.e., only Security or an authorized department, can create access rules, place a door in open hours or lock down, and handle alarm conditions, etc.. You can grant the right to designate who can enter each location to the organization to whom the location is assigned. Even so all alarms can be reserved for the security office. This feature can allow the department for whom a person works to determine their access rights, speeding up the process and reducing the load on the Security Office. On the other hand, alarm conditions will receive the professional response of the Security Office. These are only a few of the highlighted features.
